BI-LINGUAL SUPERVISOR - COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATE (CASA)

Hours of work:
Normally 21 hours per week, flexibility required, determined by program needs

Position Summary:
CASA Volunteers appointed by Family Court judges who advocate for timely and appropriate permanency planning for children in foster care. CASA Volunteers make recommendations to the Court regarding needed services for each child and family to make the dream of a safe and permanent home a reality. The CASA Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Director of Children’s Advocacy in the supervision of the program, services and volunteers. He/she must have the ability to work with diverse populations.

Qualifications:
He/she must have experience in advocacy, human services, Family Court, and/or Child Welfare. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish required. A graduate degree in a recognized field of mental health or human services is beneficial but not required. He/she must possess the ability to work successfully with a wide range of people. Candidates must consent to Fingerprinting and a Criminal History Information Records search.

Harlem RBI seeks a Director of Social Services whose primary responsibilities will be to develop and ensure the provision of a range of social services responding to the needs of Harlem RBI’s after-school program participants. Harlem RBI is an innovative community organization in East Harlem, New York whose mission is to use baseball and softball and the power of teams to provide inner-city youth with opportunities to Play, Learn and Grow, inspiring them to recognize their potential and realize their dreams.

The ideal candidate will work with senior management across disciplines to create an integrated social service program. The position’s primary responsibilities include:

  • Create a vision and operational plan for the Social Service Program
  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision to a full-time social worker and graduate student interns
  • Develop and maintain external partnerships
  • Provide short-term counseling and crisis intervention work
  • Train staff and volunteers on social work issues
LCSW, clinical supervision and program development experience are required. Spanish fluency preferred. Position requires some evening hours and occasional Saturdays.

Position: Bilingual Social Worker

Immediate opportunity for a Bilingual Social Worker in WIHD’s Aftercare Program which assists families and children who have been reunited after foster care placement.

Job responsibilities include providing in-home clinical services and supports for families whose children have returned from foster care to promote child well being and maintain permanency. Position requires close collaboration with the Westchester County Department of Social Services to support the families’ reunification and promote well being of children.

Applicants should have an MSW with some knowledge of or experience with the Child Welfare system, excellent writing and verbal skills, the ability to work in various community settings independently and be able to collaborate within an inter-disciplinary team framework. Applicants must have a car and valid driver’s license and must be Spanish-speaking.
